The official store for your medical society

The society owns the brand, the board certification and the members. Glim builds the official store carrying that brand and handles the catalog, the inventory, the invoicing and delivery to each physician — the society simply funds a balance for whatever it wants produced and sent.

Glim runs official stores for medical specialty societies, their affiliated and regional chapters and other healthcare councils and associations: a white-label store carrying the society's brand, embroidered lab coats and official items, managed inventory, invoicing (NF-e, Brazil's electronic invoice) and individual delivery nationwide. The society keeps a prepaid balance for whatever it sends in its own name; members who buy for themselves pay directly in the store.

What it costs the society

  • The society funds a prepaid balance. There is no subscription, no joining fee and no commission on what members buy.
  • The balance already covers the official store with the society's brand, the operation, invoicing and shipping. There is no separate platform charge.
  • The balance does not expire and top-ups are flexible. A society whose year revolves around the congress can leave the balance idle for months and spend it all at once.
  • The balance is only drawn down when the society orders something produced and shipped. A live store with no institutional activity draws nothing from the balance.
  • When a member buys for themselves — a lab coat, a surgical cap, a campaign T-shirt — they pay directly in the store. Nothing enters the society's books and the balance stays intact.
  • The opening balance range depends on the number of members and what the society plans to send during the year. Defined in the proposal, on request.

How it works, in five steps

  • 1. The society lends its brand. Logo, colors and name (“Official [Acronym] Store”). Glim builds the white-label store and puts it live in 7 to 10 business days.
  • 2. Glim builds the catalog. Lab coats embroidered with the society's brand and the membership category, surgical caps, pens, bottles, notebooks, T-shirts and welcome kits — from a catalog of around 700 ready-to-ship SKUs plus more than 10,000 items customizable on demand, with no minimum order.
  • 3. The society says who counts as a member. An email list from the society's office, invitation-only access or SSO from the members' area. Membership categories (full member, associate, affiliate, trainee, life member) can have different catalogs and different items.
  • 4. The society promotes it. A “[Acronym] Store” link in the site menu, a launch email and a presence at the annual congress. That is what turns an official store into a real channel.
  • 5. Glim operates. Production in São Paulo in 2 to 7 business days, then picking, embroidery, packing, invoicing and individual delivery in 3 to 15 business days depending on the destination, with tracking and support for the physician.

What the balance pays for

  • The new-specialist kit, shipped individually to each physician who passes the board certification exam, as soon as the society releases the list.
  • The annual congress: registration kits, sponsor giveaways, organizing-crew shirts, speaker items and items for the head table.
  • Awareness campaigns — the specialty's own key dates and the national health campaigns — with pieces for members, press and local activations.
  • The society's anniversary and institutional milestones: commemorative editions, collector items, pieces for long-standing members and past presidents.
  • Gifts for the board, the council, speakers and honorees, shipped individually to each address.
  • Restocking the shelf when a fast-moving item runs out between one event and the next.

The new-specialist kit

  • For every cohort of newly certified specialists, the society sends the list of successful candidates and Glim ships one kit per physician, to their own address, with individual tracking.
  • A typical kit, built from what Glim already produces: a lab coat embroidered with the society's brand and the membership category; a surgical cap; a pen; a bottle; a notebook; a T-shirt; and a welcome box with a letter from the board.
  • Board certification items specific to each society's own tradition can be brought into scope, defined case by case with the board — they are not part of the standard kit.
  • The kit comes out of the society's balance. The physician pays nothing and places no order: it simply arrives.
  • The same kit can stay listed in the store for anyone who wants extra pieces — a second lab coat, a different size — and those are paid for by the physician.
  • Between the list of successful candidates and arrival: 2 to 7 business days of production and 3 to 15 business days of delivery, depending on the destination.

What the society never has to do

  • No lab-coat inventory to buy. No boxes of S, M and L sitting in the back office waiting to move.
  • No invoicing. The NF-e is issued by Glim: to the physician when the purchase is theirs, to the society when the order is institutional.
  • No packing and no shipping. Embroidery, checking, packing and individual dispatch are Glim's job.
  • No member support. Sizing, lead times, tracking, exchanges and returns go to Glim's support team through the store itself.
  • No supplier management. The society does not source garments, chase production or follow up on botched embroidery.
  • No exposure on the sale to the member. The physician's purchase happens between them and Glim.

Members only

  • The store can be gated by an email list from the office, by individual invitation or by SSO from the members' area, when a login already exists.
  • Verification is never self-declared by the buyer: the society says who is a member, and the store follows that list.
  • Membership categories can see different catalogs — embroidery reading “Full Member” only appears for full members.
  • The society decides what stays open to the public: an awareness-campaign T-shirt, for example, can be sold to anyone.
  • The list is updated whenever the society wants: a new cohort of board-certified specialists, a category change, a member who left.
  • Affiliated societies and regional chapters can have their own store, with a shared catalog and local items, keeping the national brand standard.

It works for the rest of healthcare too

  • Specialty societies and their state-level affiliates.
  • Regional chapters and scientific departments of the larger societies, with their own store inside the national standard.
  • Federal and regional healthcare councils, with their register of licensees and their annual events.
  • Dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology and veterinary medicine work the same way: board certification, congress, campaigns and members who want the official item.
  • Student societies, residency programs and former-resident alumni associations, where the class item is the main product.
  • Outside healthcare, the same model serves unions, professional councils, alumni bodies, clubs and federations.

Frequently asked questions from medical societies

Does the society have to buy a stock of lab coats?

No. Glim manages the inventory: around 700 SKUs are ready to ship and more than 10,000 items are customizable on demand, with no minimum order. Lab coats are embroidered per order, with the society's brand and the membership category. The society pays nothing up front and stores nothing at the office.

How does a member prove they belong to the society?

The society decides and the store follows. It works from an email list supplied by the office, from individual invitations or through SSO from the members' area. It is never self-declared at checkout: anyone not on the list cannot complete the purchase. Membership categories can see different catalogs and different embroidery.

Can we send the new-specialist kit to every newly board-certified physician?

Yes, and it is one of the most common uses of the balance. The society sends the list of successful candidates and Glim produces and dispatches one kit per physician, to their own address, with individual tracking. The kit can combine an embroidered lab coat, a surgical cap, a pen, a bottle, a notebook, a T-shirt and a welcome box with a letter from the board.

What about the physician's invoice?

When a physician buys for themselves, they pay directly in the store and Glim issues the invoice (NF-e) in their name, just as any online store would. Nothing passes through the society's books and the institutional balance is untouched. When the order comes from the society — kits, congress, campaign — the invoice is issued to the society's company tax ID (CNPJ).

How long until the official store goes live?

Seven to ten business days between proposal sign-off and go-live, including the store build with the society's brand, catalog curation and restricted-access setup. The pace is usually set by the society: approving the visual identity and sending the member list.

Can we use the balance at our congress?

Yes. The balance covers registration kits, sponsor giveaways, organizing-crew shirts and speaker items, shipped ahead to the venue address or individually to each attendee. The store can also get a showcase dedicated to that year's edition, open before and after the congress.

Can our regional chapters and affiliated societies have their own stores?

Yes. Each chapter or affiliated society can have its own official store, with a catalog shared with the national brand plus local items, keeping the same visual standard. Each store follows the member list of its own chapter, and the scope of each store is defined with the society in the proposal.

Who handles exchanges and returns?

Glim does. The physician contacts support through the store itself and size exchanges are handled under the store's policy. Items with manufacturing defects or transport damage are replaced at no cost, with reverse logistics included, and a refund or credit is issued where applicable. The society's office is never involved.
