The official store for your professional association

Your association owns the brand and the members. Glim builds the official store carrying that brand and takes care of the catalog, the inventory, the invoicing and the shipping — the association simply funds a balance for whatever it wants produced and sent.

Glim runs official stores for associations, professional societies, councils, unions and federations: a white-label store carrying the association's brand, a curated catalog, managed inventory, invoicing (NF-e, Brazil's electronic invoice) and individual delivery nationwide. The association keeps a prepaid balance for anything it sends in its own name; members who buy for themselves pay directly in the store.

What it costs the association

  • The association funds a prepaid balance. No joining fee, no monthly subscription and no commission on what members buy.
  • That balance already covers the official store with the association's brand, the operation, invoicing and shipping. There is no separate platform charge.
  • The balance does not expire and top-ups are flexible: the association adds funds whenever it wants, in the amount that fits the year's calendar.
  • The balance is only drawn down when the association orders something produced and shipped. An idle store draws nothing from the balance.
  • The opening balance range depends on the size of the association and what it plans to send in the first year — defined in the proposal, on request.
  • When a member buys for themselves, they pay directly in the store. Nothing passes through the association's books and the balance is untouched.

How it works, in five steps

  • 1. The association lends its brand. Logo, colors and the store name. Glim builds the white-label store and puts it live in 7 to 10 business days.
  • 2. Glim builds the catalog. Ready-to-ship items (around 700 SKUs in our own warehouse) plus more than 10,000 items customizable on demand, curated for the association's audience. No minimum order.
  • 3. The association says who counts as a member. An email list from the association's office, invitation-only access or SSO from the membership system. Anyone not on the list cannot buy.
  • 4. The association promotes the store. A “[Acronym] Store” link in the site menu, a launch announcement to members and a presence at the congress or annual event. Promotion is what separates a store that sells from a store nobody knows exists.
  • 5. Glim operates. Production in São Paulo in 2 to 7 business days, then picking, packing, invoicing and individual delivery in 3 to 15 business days depending on the destination, with tracking and buyer support.

What the balance pays for

  • Institutional recognition kits, shipped individually to each person the association wants to honor during the year.
  • Congress kits and giveaways: registration items, sponsor gifts, crew shirts and speaker items.
  • Association campaigns: pieces for calendar campaigns, awareness drives, mobilizations and the association's own key dates.
  • Gifts for the board, councilors, speakers and honorees, shipped individually to each recipient's address.
  • Anniversaries and institutional milestones: commemorative editions, timeline pieces, collector items for long-standing members.
  • Restocking what is already in the store when a fast-moving item runs out and the association wants the shelf full.

What the association never has to do

  • No inventory to buy. None of the association's capital sits in boxes of shirts in the back office.
  • No invoicing. The NF-e is issued by Glim straight to the buyer — an individual member or the association itself, whichever applies.
  • No packing and no shipping. Picking, checking, packing and dispatch are Glim's job.
  • No member support. Sizing, lead times, tracking, exchanges and returns all reach Glim's support team through the store itself.
  • No supplier management. The association does not source garments, chase production or follow up on embroidery.
  • No tax exposure on sales to members. That sale happens between the member and Glim.

Members only

  • The store can be invitation-only: only those who receive the invitation get in and check out.
  • It can be gated by an email list supplied by the association's office, updated whenever the association wants.
  • It can be gated by SSO, when the association already runs a members' area with its own login and wants the store to recognize it.
  • Catalogs can be split by membership category, when the association has different categories and wants different items for each.
  • Verification is never self-declared: the association decides who is a member, and the store follows that list.
  • Items the association wants open to the public — a campaign T-shirt, for instance — can sit outside the restricted area.

Who it is for

  • Medical specialty societies — board certification, the annual congress and awareness campaigns set the calendar for the year.
  • Federal and regional professional councils, each with its own register of licensees and its own events.
  • Bar associations and their chapters — an official store per chapter, with swearing-in, committee and event items.
  • Bodies representing other health professions — dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology and veterinary medicine work exactly the same way.
  • Unions and federations — campaigns, assemblies and the sector's key dates.
  • Chambers of commerce and industry associations — a members' store for events and sector committees.
  • Alumni bodies and universities — an official store for former students, with class, graduation and reunion items.
  • Clubs, sports federations and leagues — the official item for members, supporters and coaching staff.

Why not run the store in-house

  • Launching the store is the easy part. What breaks later is the operation: someone at the office ends up responsible for packing, posting and answering a member upset about tracking.
  • An in-house store means buying inventory before knowing what sells. The wrong size and the color that never moves become a loss and take up space.
  • It means issuing a consumer invoice, with the right tax codes, for every single order — a brand-new obligation for a team with no structure for it.
  • The real risk is not launching the store: it is keeping it alive after the first few weeks, when picking, dispatching and answering buyers needs someone every single day.
  • With Glim, the association keeps what is genuinely its own — the brand, the member list and the decision of what to sell — and takes on none of the operation.
  • And the store does not depend on one person. When the board changes, the store stays live, with the same catalog and the same operation.

Frequently asked questions from associations and professional bodies

What does the official store cost the association?

There is no joining fee and no monthly subscription. The association funds a prepaid balance, and that balance already covers the official store carrying its brand, the operation, invoicing and shipping. The balance is only drawn down when the association orders something to be produced and sent. The opening balance range is set in the proposal, on request.

Does the association's balance expire?

No. The balance does not expire and top-ups are flexible: the association adds funds whenever it wants, in whatever amount makes sense. If the year revolves around the annual congress, the balance can sit untouched for months and be spent all at once. A store with no activity draws nothing from the balance.

Who issues the invoice when a member buys?

Glim does. When a member buys on their own account, they pay directly in the store and Glim issues the invoice (NF-e) in their name. Nothing passes through the association's books, and the institutional balance is untouched. When the buyer is the association itself, the invoice is issued to the association's company tax ID (CNPJ).

Does the association have to buy inventory?

No. Glim manages the inventory: around 700 SKUs are held in our own warehouse for immediate shipping and more than 10,000 items are customizable on demand, with no minimum order. The association pays nothing up front, stores no boxes at the office and carries no risk of dead stock.

How does the store verify that a buyer is a member?

The association sets the rule and the store follows it. It works from an email list supplied by the association's office, from individual invitations or through SSO when the association already has a members' area with its own login. Verification is never self-declared by the buyer, and catalogs can be split by membership category.

Can we use the store for our annual congress?

Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. The balance covers registration kits, sponsor giveaways, crew shirts and speaker items, shipped ahead to the venue address or individually to each attendee. The store can also host a showcase dedicated to that year's edition.

What if the association already has a garment supplier?

You can keep working with them. Glim receives that supplier's items at our hub, checks them in, stores them and lists them in the official store alongside the Glim catalog, handling picking, invoicing and shipping. The garment contract stays with the association. Third-party items may carry a storage fee, stated in the proposal.

How long until the official store goes live?

Seven to ten business days from proposal sign-off to go-live, covering the store build with the association's brand, catalog curation and restricted-access setup. What usually sets the pace is the association: approving the visual identity and sending the member list.
